Cathedral of Our Lady
Work was begun on the present Cathedral around 1352 and was
completed in 1521. The north tower rises up 123 meters (or just over
400 feet) and without a doubt dominates the Antwerp skyline...besides that,
the enourmous size of the clock on the tower eliminates the need to ask
the time in Dutch. The seven-aisled church became a cathedral in
1559, and it was at the time of its completion the largest Gothic construction
in the Netherlands.
