Neuhausen am Rheinfall (Schaffhausen), Schweiz (Switzerland)

After leaving Dachau on Wednesday March 24 and taking in Schwangau and Füssen, we ended up staying at Lindau am Bodensee, Bodensee being the lake forming part of the border for Germany with  Austria and Switzerland.  In Lindau we stayed at a lovely bed & breakfast called the Möve.  Thursday amorning we had breakfast, walked around the town a little and finally bought our Apfelstrudel before leaving Bavaria.  We drove along the lake and headed into Switzerland, cruising by border patrol...for the most part.

We dipped into the neutral country and got to this picturesque spot where on the Rhein river.  We took a break to enjoy the scenery and beautiful weather...and to get a snack.  Ice cream time!  Since it was available, Joy thought she'd pick up a little shooter of pear schnapps for the road--good thing she wasn't driving.  The best part is that we all forgot about the schnapps until a few days later when they were sitting in the Brussels Airport getting ready to leave to go back home.

Rheinfall

And here's me standing cheerily by the Rhein.  I was probably trying to mutter instructions to the photographer when this picture was taken.  Oh well.  It was a great day.  While we were in Switzerland, Dad got me a really great souvenir...what else but a Swiss Army knife.

Next we headed up to Strasbourg to begin our own Tour de France.
